Pulse has many requests for employment and many people want to connect with what we have built. We believe this value can be shared with others in new and innovative ways.
All of these factors led us to create a brand-new program that we are thrilled to announce! Ascend: The Pulse Fellowship is a launchpad for pre-licensed associates (Professional Counselors, Clinical Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists) to build clinical confidence, business savvy, and lasting community.
We believe in mentoring people out – not holding them in. This is where you grow into your future practice with clarity and power.
Ascend is a leadership program designed to support newer therapists in the creation of sustainable, values-driven businesses in Oregon; striving for innovative patient care while balancing compliance and risk. Fellows will earn a competitive commission and have all business expenses paid for during their tenure in the program. They will hold temporary employment status at Pulse while they work toward licensure and learn the specifics of owning and operating a private practice. They will receive individual supervision, monthly group supervision, and monthly business development seminars. Pulse holds a COA and is contracted with CareOregon.
The application window for this program is June 15 – October 1, 2025. On November 1st, 2025 Pulse will name five candidates chosen to represent the inaugural cohort of this fellowship initiative. Building my private practice was hard, scary, and lonely. Many people offered counsel, and I paid a lot of money to sit in rooms with people who could teach me more. It was slow and there were tears. (For those reading this who are more established, I’m sure you know what I mean!) It just doesn’t have to be like that. Pulse is committed to being part of the rising tide of leadership within our field that lifts all boats.
